Rusty Hardin’s effort to legitimize “happy endings” will reverberate through each of the 23 pending lawsuits against Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Attorney Tony Buzbee, who represents the plaintiffs, told John Barr of ESPN.com that Hardin “may have single-handedly lost his client’s case because I’m absolutely going to use that comment because I think it speaks volumes to how he, his team and his client think about the massage industry.”

Added Buzbee: “If you’re in the massage industry, according to Rusty Hardin, that’s to be expected. And apparently that’s what his client expected. I promise you that’s not what any of these women expected.”

Hardin said in a Houston radio appearance that “happy endings” aren’t illegal unless extra money is paid or them. Hardin also said that it’s not a crime to do or say things that make someone else uncomfortable.

Those comments arguably go to the heart of the claims against Watson. The plaintiffs will argue that Watson wanted massages to turn sexual, and that he tried to make that happen. They’ll argue that his efforts crossed the line into civil liability.

And Buzbee is absolutely right on one key point. The comments Hardin made on the radio, along with his effort to clean things up with a statement issued late Friday afternoon, convey an attitude that men should expect massages to sometimes become sexual. That’s obviously not what massages are supposed to be.

As a result of that attitude, men (like Watson, arguably) line up massages and hope that they will take a turn from massage to something else. Watson arguably tried to make those things happen. The nonchalance with with this admission was made will make Buzbee’s cases a little bit easier to prove.

Meanwhile, how much in guaranteed money did the Browns just give Watson?!

Every day this gets sicker and sicker. How can the NFL not be looking at a multi-year suspension at this point? Do they really want the message to be that if you can throw a football on the field you can do whatever you want off the field and oh by the way, be the highest paid player in the history of the game? Will that really be okay with the NFL because obviously it is with Haslam and the Browns so it might be with other owners.

The NFL needs a line in the sand and then push that line to bury Watson. There is no way he should be allowed back in the league until every one of these 23 and counting trials takes place or it settled.

I have no dog in this fight and could care less what happens with Watson and the Browns, but this Buzbee guy comes off as as big of a dirtbag as anyone involved. All of them deserve each other.

Hardin is a fraud’s fraud. Watson is finished.

What if the NFL, to spite the irresponsibility of the Browns, lets Watson play this year as he attempts to deal with 23 separate trials over the course of the season? That would be the ultimate punishment to franchise and player. Then, after the results of all cases come to light, suspend him accordingly for the next year? After all, Watson’s contract is designed to protect him — by paying him only $1 million dollars this year. If that doesn’t reek of guilt, what does? So many things are wrong with this situation, it’s difficult to know where to start the process to rectify this very sad and repugnant mess.

If the NFL didn’t punish Mr. Kraft during his “massage parlor” escapades then how can they punish Watson? Mr. Kraft’s dalliances were actually caught on camera.

LOL. That’s what you get for hiring an 80yo lawyer with a bad toupee named “Rusty”.

Hardin is doing a great job winning this case…for the plaintiffs.

You’re comparing consensual sex between 2 adults and no lawsuit to 20+ licensed physical therapists who were not offering such services?

Also, Kraft paid the misdemeanor fine and moved on. Watson is denying he is a serial violator.
