The Huayra NC, the latest supercar from Pagani Automobili, is quite sensational.

Pagani Automobili, based in Modena, Italy, is widely known for producing some of the world's rarest, aesthetically pleasing, and exhilarating supercars. Founded in 1992 by Argentinian Horacio Pagani after leaving his job at Lamborghini, the legendary 1999 Pagani Zonda was its first vehicle. The Huayra, pronounced as "Why-ra," was introduced in 2011 when Zonda's production was coming to an end. 2018 marked the end of the regular Huayra coupe, with 2020 being the final year for the standard production Huayra BC roadster. But that doesn't mean things are over for the Huayra model. Private collectors who want a one-of-a-kind model have had little problem getting their wishes met by Pagani – a new Zonda is being built in 2022.

Just when we thought Pagani had run out of ideas for the Huayra with so many special editions, one-offs, spin-offs, and track-only models made, they recently released a new one dubbed the Huayra NC. It is a convertible that is anything but modest. It will surely attract the interest of Pagani's most loyal followers. With a good chance of it likely disappearing in a highly-secured garage and only getting driven a few times for the world to see, here are 10 things we just found out about the one-off Pagani Huayra NC.

With the Huayra production winding down, Pagani is only making bespoke creations at this point in time. The Huayra NC is a stunning one-off supercar explicitly crafted for one of Pagani's special client.

Although the client remains unnamed, an educated guess is it is for a Chinese buyer, given that Pagani's Chinese Division was the first to share it on its Facebook page.

Pagani hypercars and supercars are some of the best on the market; even standard models possess a massive draw because of their intricate detailing and rarity. It would be easy to think that they come from Pagani's Special Projects Division, but that's not the case.

Pagani Grandi Complicazioni (Special Projects Division) only works on ultra-exclusive commissioned projects like the recently rolled out Huayra Codalunga and this Huayra NC. Clients are given nearly limitless freedom to shape their bespoke creation into the supercar they want, as long as the funds are available.

All road-going Huayra models use a 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine, Mercedes-AMG developed exclusively for Pagani. In the standard Huayra BC Roadster, it delivers 791 horses and 774 lb. ft of torque.

Powering the Huayra NC is the same motor, but it has been upgraded to generate 819 hp and 796 lb-ft of torque, the same as the Huayra BC Pacchetto Tempesta edition. Grafted to it is a 7-speed sequential transmission sending power to the rear wheels.

There is far more to performance than brute power. Stuffing a big V12 creates speed, but developing a supercar that will be fast to accelerate, quick to stop, and highly agile requires it to also be extremely light.

Pagani's are known for making such super-light cars with terrific handling dynamics. The Huayra NC is a shade lighter than the "normal" Huayra BC Roadster, tipping the scale at only 2,734 pounds (1,240 kilograms). While we don't have performance figures yet, we can tell it will be fast and nimble no matter what.

Carbon fiber is often used to get rid of extra weight in modern supercars. Pagani used the material extensively to achieve the 2,734 lbs weight of the Huayra NC. Most of its body panels, like the doors, rear clamshell, front quarter, and rear quarter panels, are bathed in beautifully painted carbon fiber.

On the hood, side skirts, rear fascia, and taillight shrouds, the wonder material has been left to show off its traditional shades of glossy gray.

The Huayra NC looks to be built on the Huayra BC Roadster and thus shares some of its features. These include the AMG-sourced V12 and its distinct engine cover, front wing, wild rear diffuser, and the big buttresses behind the headrests.

Its more prominent roof-mounted air scoop seems to have been borrowed from the limited-edition Huayra Imola.

The one-of-a-kind livery of the Pagani Huaryra NC unmistakably sets it apart from other cars, giving it a head-turning look. The owner elected to have the exterior mainly finished in a dark shade of blue, while various parts have been meticulously painted red and white.

The contrasting red and white stripes can be seen running across the hood scoop, on side vents, rear wing uprights, the diffuser, and the front end. To save weight, only a thin layer of paint was applied, and some of the carbon fiber was allowed to retain its natural gray color.

The Huayra NC's opulent two-seater cabin is also decked out in blue and black, featuring red and gray accents. Large parts of the interior, like its A-pillars, are clad in royal blue Alcantara with the gearshift lever anodized in the same color. Seats are made in blue and black with red stitching to match the exterior look.

The interior features an analog instrument cluster and gray circular AC vents. The top of the flat-bottom steering wheel, parts of the dashboard, and the stability control knob have a dark red accent. The cabin undoubtedly looks like a nice place to be in.

The Pagani Huayra NC looks like a street-legal Huayra that's wildly enthusiastic for the track. Closely observing its aero bits, the more it seems like an extreme version of the Huayra BC Roadster.

Its aero features include a prominent front splitter, aero-optimized hood, sloping roofline with an airscoop, side vents on both doors, rear wing and a massive wild-looking rear diffuser at the back.

Pagani Automobili is currently working on the successor to the Huayra, the car this NC one-off is based on. Codenamed the C10 internally, it is expected to debut in Milan in September this year. The Italian automaker has already confirmed that one variant of the upcoming C10 will continue to use its 6.0-liter V12 engine tuned for an extra 30 to 40 hp (22 to 30 kW), with the other going all-electric.

Horacio Pagan, the company's founder, comments have indicated that the C10 will be far faster than the existing Huayra due to its focus on weight reduction. From spy shots, the Pagani C10 appears to be a much smoother and simpler evolution, with Pagani's distinctive high-mounted quad exhaust arrangement at the rear. Only 300 C10 units will be built.
