EDWARDSVILLE — A St. Charles man was indicted for a Class X felony and two Class 3 felonies on Thursday by a Madison County Grand Jury.
Jeramie M. Conner, 32, was indicted for armed violence, a Class X felony. Conner was also charged with possession of weapons by a felon and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, both Class 3 felonies.
The case was presented by the Glen Carbon Police Department.
According to court documents, on May 17 Conner allegedly had an Anderson AR-15 assault rifle and an amount of alprazolam with the intent to deliver. He was previously convicted in 2013 of a controlled substance felony.
Other indictments filed by Madison County on June 9 include:
• Jahniy C. Dowdy, 19, of St. Louis, was indicted for aggravated offenses related to motor vehicles, a Class 1 felony; burglary, a Class 3 felony; and aggravated use of weapons, a Class 4 felony. The case was presented by the Wood River Police Department.
According to court documents, on Sept. 29, 2020, Dowdy allegedly had three reported stolen vehicles: a 2014 Dodge Dart and two 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokees. He allegedly entered a building at Federico Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Wood River to commit theft and reportedly was carrying a loaded and accessible Glock Model 22 handgun and a Palmetto State Arms rifle in a motor vehicle without a valid Firearm Owner’s Identification Card or concealed carry permit.
• Branden L. Wigfall, 25, of South Roxana, was indicted on two counts of possession of weapons by a felon, a Class 2 felony. The case was presented by the Bethalto Police Department. According to court documents, on May 16, Wigfall, a prior felon convicted of aggravated robbery, allegedly had a Taurus 9 mm handgun while on parole.
• Jakhari R. Alexander, 20, of Alton, was indicted for aggravated battery with a firearm, a Class X felony, and attempted armed robbery, a Class 1 felony. The case was presented by the Alton Police Department. According to court documents, on Feb. 17, Alexander allegedly shot a man in the thigh with a 9 mm handgun while robbing him. Bail was set at $150,000.
• Andrew L. Garrett, 40, of Edwardsville, was indicted for possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a weapon by a felon, both Class 3 felonies. The case was presented by the Wood River Police Department. According to court documents, on May 25, Garrett, having previously been convicted of aggravated battery to a peace officer, allegedly had a Freeburg Police Department issued Glock 17T Simunition pistol.
• Dorian C. Andrews, 34, of East St. Louis, was indicted for domestic battery, a Class 3 felony. The case was presented by the Edwardsville Police Department. According to court documents, on April 20, Andrews allegedly made physical contact with a family or household member, having previously been convicted of domestic battery in 2011, 2019 and 2021.
