An Animal Crossing: New Horizons fan creates an impressive replica of the item leaf that carries multiple Nintendo Switch games and MicroSD cards.

The popularity of the Animal Crossing franchise really boomed with the release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons on Nintendo Switch, causing an influx of unique fan creations. One player has decided to celebrate their love of Animal Crossing: New Horizons with an impressive leaf case that can hold several Nintendo Switch game cartridges.

Reddit user Ikyboi101 recently posted a brief clip of their 3D printed model of an item leaf from Animal Crossing: New Horizons as it opens up to reveal slots to insert Nintendo Switch games into like many other cases. The item leaf has been a memorable logo from the Animal Crossing titles since the very first one released, and they have appeared in each of the games along the way. Unlike the tools, accessories, crafting items, and clothing in Animal Crossing: New Horizons which have their own inventory indicators, the many furniture sets are represented by the item leaf which may be what inspired this creation.

Ikyboi101's clip starts with the Nintendo Switch leaf game case being picked up and opened to show how easily the two 3D printed pieces come apart to provide access to the cartridges inside. The Animal Crossing: New Horizons-inspired leaf can contain up to ten Nintendo Switch games, as well as three MicroSD cards that are capable of holding their own downloaded games. The item leaf is slowly spun around to show that it doesn't come apart unintentionally thanks to a few magnets, which highlights the glossy finish to the case made of green filament.

In order for Ikyboi101 to get the proper size to use for the Nintendo Switch cartridges to fit into, they went through multiple iterations to perfect the dimensions. Because the case uses magnets to stick together effectively, Ikyboi101 also noted that neither the cartridges nor MicroSD cards are negatively impacted by the magnetism in order to dispel concerns about data wiping. According to Ikyboi101, they've also 3D printed a Triforce case that they may be willing to recreate for Legend of Zelda fans that go to their Etsy shop.

Many Reddit users took to Ikyboi101's Nintendo Switch game case to express their enthusiasm for the idea, while some suggested they'd buy their own off Ikyboi101's Etsy. Some Animal Crossing: New Horizons players had further ideas for Ikyboi101, such as crafting one of the many Gyroids of New Horizons, bell bag, fossil, star fragment, and message in a bottle inventory indicators, something Legend of Zelda-related, or a Kingdom Hearts 3D printing, all of which Ikyboi101 hinted interest at.
